Expedition: Pik Lenin, Pamir Highway & Wakhan Corridor
July 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026
The dates are not set yet. This will be a three-weeks expedition in July or August. Email us for more information.
We plan to start in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, and travel along the Pamir Highway and Wakhan Corridor to Sary Tash. We will organize a minibus or two-three 4×4 cars with a driver. Short hikes are planned to the base camps of Peak Karl Marx and Lake Karakul. The landscapes along the route are truly unique and yet untouched by mass tourism. This trip will help us to acclimatise before the Pik Lenin expedition and give us more flexibility with the weather windows on the mountain.
From Sary Tash, it’s a two-hour drive through the Alay Valley to Peak Lenin’s Base Camp. We plan to spend about two weeks climbing. Some of us plan to paraglide down. It is also possible to ski down.
Afterwards, we’ll head to Osh, where we plan tomeet up with a local LGBTIQ+ group, and later to Bishkek, where we will organise Pride Hike or Pride Climb with local queer youth before returning home via Bishkek.
You can also join only the Pamir Highway & Wakhan Corridor (no mountaineering experience is needed) without the expedition to Pik Lenin and vice versa. We’ll have a video call with all interested parties for the trip in the fall 2025.
