SUMMARY:Expedition: Pik Lenin\, Pamir Highway & Wakhan Corridor
DESCRIPTION:Register here. \nApply for Pink Summits scholarship / travel grant sponsored by Osprey (only the part with Pik Lenin). \nWe plan to start in Dushanbe\, the capital of Tajikistan\, and travel along the Pamir Highway and Wakhan Corridor to Sary Tash. We will organize a minibus or two-three 4×4 cars with a driver. Short hikes are planned within a vicinity of the Peak Karl Marx and Lake Karakul. The landscapes along the route are truly unique and yet untouched by mass tourism. This trip will help us to acclimatise before the Pik Lenin expedition and give us more flexibility with the weather windows on the mountain. \nFrom Sary Tash\, it’s a two-hour drive through the Alay Valley to Peak Lenin’s Base Camp. We plan to spend about two weeks climbing. Some of us plan to paraglide down. It is also possible to ski down. \nAfterwards\, we’ll head to Osh\, where we plan tomeet up with a local LGBTIQ+ group\, and later to Bishkek\, where we will organise Pride Hike or Pride Climb with local queer youth before returning home via Bishkek. \nYou can also join only the Pamir Highway & Wakhan Corridor (no mountaineering experience is needed) without the expedition to Pik Lenin and vice versa. \nMore infos here.
